The ProShares UltraShort S&P500 (SDS) is set to correspond the double (200%) the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the S&P 500 (^SPX) index, before fees and expenses. The SDS ETF fund is invested into derivatives that should have daily return similar to the twice of the inverse of the S&P 500 index performance.
