the S&P Small Cap 600 Index (the "Index"). iShares S&P Small Cap 600/BARRA
Growth Index Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to
the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P
Small Cap 600/BARRA Growth Index. iShares S&P Small Cap 600/BARRA Value
Index Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price
and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S&P Small Cap
600/BARRA Value Index. There is no assurance that the performance of the
S&P Small Cap 600 Index can be fully matched.
The S&P 600 Index invests in a
basket of small-cap equities. The index was introduced in 1994 in an effort to
represent a smaller segment of the market than the S&P MidCap 400 Index. The S&P
600 Index has been gaining popularity among investment managers.
S&P Small Cap 600 Index iShares & ETFs
iShares are exchange-traded securities that represent ownership in over 50
different index funds, each designed to provide investment returns
corresponding to the price and yield performance, before fees and
expenses, of a particular index compiled by one of five index providers:
Standard & Poor’s (a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.), Dow
Jones & Company, Cohen & Steers, The
NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc.,
Frank
Russell Company and Goldman Sachs Group. There is no assurance that the
price and yield performance of each particular index for each fund can be
