Frequently Asked Questions
- Why would I need your market sentiment
reports?
The prevailing market sentiment has a strong influence on unfolding
market trends. We find quite frequently that traders rely too strongly
on their favorite technical analysis approaches and often forget that
changing market sentiment readings can dramatically influence the
market.
While many investors do incorporate sentiment readings into their
market analysis, most do not have access to the appropriate data that
would allow them to address the issue adequately. Our market sentiment
polls provide you with the defining data sets you need. Make good use
of our current market sentiment readings and integrate them into the
results of your own analysis (both technical and fundamental).
- Do you distribute your sentiment reports
by email?
Yes, we send out a weekly newsletter with polling reports for each
question. Each newsletter provide an analysis for the previous week.
If you do not want to wait until the end of each week to read this
material, you have the option of reading our daily sentiment reports.
- Why do the majority of your polling
questions deal with US Index shares?
There are many different types trading styles and it is virtually
impossible to describe the prevailing market sentiment for each and
every one of them on one site, . Whatever stock you may be trading,
its volatility is always represented, to a certain extent, by the
volatility of the index to which it belongs. It doesn't matter what
securities you prefer, by answering our sentiment questions about a
particular index, you are essentially addressing the sentiment for
your particular stock as well.
- Investors often change their opinions
about future market trends. How do you take this into consideration in
your market sentiment polls?
You can access a library of our polling reports, on a day-by-day
basis, backward and forward in time, to determine the market sentiment
for any specific date.
- Because they trade different time frames,
the market opinions of different types of traders can vary greatly.
How do you account for this in your polls?
A good question! To address this issue, we created three sets of
questions for each index. These questions reflect the current market
sentiment, as perceived by short-, mid- and long-term traders. We
encourage you to voice your opinion in all categories. Even if you are
a day trader, for example, you might still have an opinion about where
the market is going in the mid- and long-term.
- Should I trade according to the
prevailing market sentiment? Should I base my trading decisions on
what the majority of traders are thinking?

the information on this site without first undertaking your own due

- How often can I vote during a day? Will
you count all my votes?
For each particular question, you may vote only once per day. Should
you vote several times (for the same question), we will only count
your first vote .
- Where do you get all the votes from each
day? And how reliable is the polling information you post?
Our site is part of the Highlight Investment Research Group, which
offers a series of financial products on the web. Each of our sites
has at least one of the polls listed in this site. We also gather
information via our partnerships with numerous others sites (that also
use our polls). By aggregating and summarizing all the polls from
these various sites, we generate reliable reports that are reflective
of the current market sentiment.
